Natacha Wuyts & Matthieu de Wit Duo

The Jazz Station will celebrate its 15th anniversary at the end of September. A somewhat special anniversary in view of the current situation, so it was keen to offer an overview, a sketch of what represents the heart of its program. This mini-series of concerts thus evokes the DNA of its scene: organic, curious and open-minded music. Based on the principle that there are as many definitions of jazz as there are jazz(wo)men, these thirty artists chosen from among many others have marked the history of its stage. In their own way, they represent a contemporary vision of jazz, which the Jazz Station supports on a daily basis. Confirmed artists or newcomers to follow closely, crossovers or revisited paths, traveling or intimate souls, these women and men from here or elsewhere embrace in our eyes what the Jazz Station is all about.

Natacha Wuyts & Mathieu De Wit Duo

Natacha comes from a family of musicians. She started music self-taught and quickly developed a love and passion for the stage. After studying Plastic Arts, she joined the Antwerp Jazz Studio for three years where she studied singing and the piano. Passionate and always enthusiastic, Natacha ignites the scene with each of her appearances. She offers her audience an undeniable sense of rhythm coupled with a relentless scat technique.
Mathieu De Wit started playing the classical piano at the age of 6. At 18 he also entered the Jazz Studio where he studied 2 years of jazz training with pianists Ewout Pierreux and Jeremy Calbert. He continued then his training at the Koninklijk Conservatorium in Brussels, and at the Lemmens Instituut in Leuven later. Since the start of his career, Mathieu has participated in many musical projects: Oscar Trio and Quintet, Symmetrio, Radicant, Julien Fraipont Quintet, Belch Quartet, Sack
O'Woe.
These two musicians, who have been used to play together for years, have built over time a very
strong connection and an incomparable bond. At the Jazz Station, they are also regulars, since Natacha is the coordinator of our Singers Nights evenings and Mathieu is the pianist. Together and thanks to their professionalism, they allow amateur singers to enjoy a jazz scene in the best conditions, one Friday per month.
