Potlatch Quintet

Among the Chinooks, Indians of North America, the potlatch is a system of exchange based on donation. At Potlatch, a jazz quintet from Besançon, music is based on exchange. The proposed donations respond to the improvised counter-gifts; the influences of each mix to form an emulsion that is always different, but which is invariably based on the same pleasure of playing together. Potlatch offers eclectic music, without genre boundaries and with sounds borrowed from the Middle East, the Balkans, and the Americas. Each piece is an almost cinematographic object, with its decor, its narration, its meeting points, its surprises. Films to listen to on repeat, because they are always renewed.
