Baz Trio

"Young Talents" - CD release "L’Homme bleu"

Basile Rahola - double bass, composition / Wajdi Riahi - piano /Oscar Georges - drums

The encounter of the French double bass player Basile Rahola and the Tunisian pianist Wajdi Riahi on a tour in Tunisia in 2018 motivated the creation of the Baz Trio. Wajdi moving to Brussels brings the two musicians closer together and strengthens the desire to bring the project to a successful conclusion. Basile takes in his old friend, the French drummer Oscar Georges. This is how the Baz Trio came into being. Basile then starts composing a new repertoire and the trio tours in France and abroad. This trio, which stands out because of its great complicity and cohesion that produce eclectic, original and melodic music, won the first prize for "Best Group" at the International Jazz Contest in Mechelen (Belgium) in 2018 and is a finalist of the International Zilina Jazz Contest (Slovakia) and Dînant Jazz Contest (Belgium). The first album was recorded live at the Jamboree Jazz Club in Barcelona in April 2019 during a tour in Spain. The second studio album, recorded in October 2019, was released on the prestigious label Fresh Sound New Talent and will be released on October the 29th!
