Adèle Viret invites Sarra Douik
Sarra Douik - voice & oud / Adèle Viret - cello / Zé Almeida - double bass / Pierre Hurty - drums
The Goethe-Institut and Jazz Station are organizing an artistic residency in Brussels for young musicians from Europe and the Arab world, as part of the ongoing Halaqat project (Arabic for "link" or "circle"). Funded by the European, Halaqat began in 2021 and will enter a new phase this autumn, with a particular focus on gender and equality. To open this new phase, we asked Adèle Viret, a French cellist based in Brussels, to invite artists including Sarra Douik, a Tunisian singer and oud player, to work together on a new repertoire for five days. A concert brings this magnificent residency to a close !
