Michel Vrydag "Mapping Roots"

“Play me a song that tells me where you’re from.” Responding with notes to this question often asked during travels, tours and collaborations with other musicians, bassist-composer Michel Vrydag often performed one or another composition from his repertoire.

This was the idea behind "Mapping Roots": a living music, open to the world, nourished by improvisation and various musical traditions, a repertoire of compositions bringing together all its influences: mainly jazz and also traditional music from several continents, rock and even electronic music. He surrounds himself with pianist Bram Weijters and drummer Daniel Jonkers to present astonishing and energetic music.
