"Young Talents" - EP release « La Piccola Scimmia »

Natasha Van Eerdewegh - piano, compositions / Bastien Jeunieaux - guitar / Julien Cuvelier - saxophones / Boris Schmidt - double bass / Gaspard Sicx - drums

Born on the Brussels jazz scene, inspired by a common aesthetic, the pianist’s quintet revolves around her original compositions, the sound space of which harbors the creativity and expressiveness of each musician. In a neo-hardbop lineage, Luna Moan emphasizes improvisation and pays particular attention to listening and interaction between musicians. In his universe, we perceive the influences of composers like Wayne Shorter, Tommy Flanagan, Bill Evans, Keith Jarrett, or Richie Beirach. They meet for the first time at the Jazz Station in December 2018 to record some pieces written in Italy. The connection is immediate and a first EP "La Piccola Scimmia" emerges, marking the beginning of a collaboration whose enthusiasm will transcend borders.
