After exploring African roots with his group Foofango for several years, Pierre Vaiana focuses on the Mediterranean as a space for cultural exchange and rediscovers his Sicilian roots with the Funduq project. He takes time to recharge his batteries, to reflect on the essential values of life and returns from Sicily with his pockets swollen with a melodious, tender, sun-drenched jazz and compositions that seem to be blown by water, wind and mountains.
