Vaganée - Gerstmans - Verbruggen Trio

The trio formed after a first concert at the Jazzathome festival in Mechelen in 2019. Two years later, an album was recorded as a livestream concert at Jet Studio in Jette (Brussels). ‘Black Diamond’ is a collection of first takes, it is an opus brimming with love for improvised jazz music and which presents a dynamic interaction between the three musicians. The trio plays a mix of standards from the jazz repertoire and original works. Expect music from Thelonious Monk, Ornette Coleman, Skúli Sverrisson, Frank Vaganée, Charles Mingus and Charlie Parker.
